Jaroslavice – place in the landscape
Májek, Jan ; Veselá, Markéta (referee) ; Foretník, Jan (advisor)
The work is aimed at the center of the village, which is a square that, in size comparable to that of the Square of Freedom in Brno, is an exhibition of problems: considerable deterioration of the building fund, underground use of the public space, which is moreover unreadable and unreachable. The proposed solution divides the area of the square into three smaller public spaces that have a different character and function. Mariánské námětí is the torso of the existing one, which has been earmarked for the building of a new municipal office and library, is characterized by town houses and the location of services and public amenities. The second area is a semi-detached cottage. It is dominated by walnuts and water. The proposed buildings are oriented towards the library and the wine house. The third such defined area is the Wine Market, which is the crossroads, the scattered area of the surrounding houses, like a school, shops, or wine house. A large part of the COOP building has a sports complex with a halo and a swimming pool. There are solved especially the buildings of the town hall with a library and a wine house.

The main subject of research consists in the interpretation of the sin apperaring in the sources which reflect the contemporary world of thought, The conclusion reveals how seriously sin was taken in the Baroque (pious) times by people and to what extent the paradigm of sin was influenced by nascent civil society.
Aristocratic disputes over honour in the early modern period
PINTNER, Tomáš
The bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of disputes over honour in the early modern period. It aims to present a comprehensible portrayal of the concept of honour and its social value between the years 1527-1627 in the Kingdom of Bohemia. Honour had slightly dissimilar worth in the lives of various groups of people of different social statuses, and it was an inseparable part of noblemen's identity. Its importance was reflected in legal norms, for there were explicitly defined offences against honour. Losing honour meant social segregation, and for that reason, one had to defend himself - either by legal means or by using violence. The thesis will further explore the second option, the duel, and its place in the early modern culture. Moreover, some representative examples of duels, European fencing trends of the 16th century, and weapon regulations of the period will be introduced. Finally, the thesis will be concluded with the analysis of the duel between Mikuláš Dačický of Heslov and Felix Novohradský of Kolovrat from 1582 and its legal consequences.
Yugonostalgia and the Legacy of Josip Broz Tito
Sharabati, Abdel Fattah ; Šístek, František (advisor) ; Chrzová, Barbora (referee)
In the first part, this bachelor's thesis follows up the life and work of former Yugoslav leader Josip Broz Tito. It is a recap of his life from his birth in 1892 in the picturesque village of Kumrovec in Croatia until 1980 and his state funeral in Belgrade, which is considered the largest in the world. The work captures the most important moments of Tito's life and his political career. Whether it was abduction to Russia during the First World War, election to the head of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia, command of guerrilla units in World War II, the establishment of AVNOJ, Tito-Stalin split, the establishment of the Non-Aligned Movement, etc. In the next part thesis follow up posthumous legacy in many sectors, whether it is culture, the Internet, tourism, etc. In this part, the work also deals with nostalgia as such, including its definition and the justification for why it is apolitical. The last part of this work follows up differences of opinion on the person of Josip Broz. These differences are researched through an online questionnaire sent to people which are holding Serbian, Croatian or Bosnian citizenship (only Muslims without ethnic Serbs or Croats living in Bosnia and Herzegovina) and which are living both inside and outside the former Yugoslavia.. These three citizenships were...

Since 2008 with the Russo-Georgian war we observe the gradual deterioration of relations between Russia and the European Union which achieves its apogee during the Ukrainian crisis and the annexation of Crimea. The current escalation of relationships is reviewed as a cultural conflict, the author claims different mentality as one of the influential factors and possible dimensions of conflict analysis. This work also points out internal cultural mechanisms and features provoking aggressive external policy and considers cultural identity as a container of ideas which justify and originate opposition and conflict with other cultures. The collapses of distant worlds
Kozina, Václav ; Halbich, Marek (advisor) ; Budil, Ivo (referee) ; Horák, Miroslav (referee)
Diploma thesis "The collapses of distant worlds" deals with interpretations of the conquista of Mexico and Peru (i.e. the conquests of Aztec and Inca empires). The basic question, which all the works considering the conquista deal with, is: how could the arrival of small groups of Spanish conquerors disrupt great Indian empires in such a short time? My thesis has two main goals: to define the typology of interpretations of the conquista and offer my own interpretation which places emphasis on the role of mentalities and cultural complexes. I have distinguished four basic types of interpretations of the conquista: 1. the metaphysical ones; 2. the technological ones; 3. the environmental ones; 4. the mentalistic ones. I used the conception of mentalities (derived from the work of Lucien Lévy-Bruhl) and the system conception of cultur, where I worked with the term "cultural complex" especially. After my approach the conquista represented the clash between two different types of mentalities: the archaic one (which Indian societies featured) and the literary one (which was developed in European societies). Differences in mentalities and cultural complexes provided advantages to the Spaniards in their struggles with the Aztecs and the Incas. So finally the Spanish conquest of Indian empires is...
